Manor field School children are now safer following the installation of long awaited bollards.
The introduction of bollards are part of new measures which will hopefully led to a safer route to school, not only for them, but all users of the footpaths.
The traffic control measures were the result of extensive consultation with highways professionals and the school.
Sue Knight says “This part of Junction Road has been a nightmare for years. mainly down to a few drivers abusing the wide pavement area by the school and ignoring even the basics, like the highway code.
We all know our roads are getting busier, but when our children are being put at risk and lollypop ladies are put in danger by the odd inconsiderate motorist we have to come up with solutions, hopefully when all the work is completed everyone will not only feel safer, but be safer.
